Introducing Sparrow Wine Bar

We can’t contain the secret any longer… it’s time you know: We’re opening a wine bar!

This HUGE news has been a long time coming — stretching all the way back to last July, when we first dreamed a dream that seemed perhaps far too big, and yet here we are, saying out loud for the first time that we are starting something brand new and so, SO exciting!

We know you’ve been waiting patiently for our big announcement, so we want to answer a few questions right off the bat:

  • YES! We are really opening a wine bar! 🍷 🍾
  • Yes, it’s going to be right next to the cheese shop, with a doorway allowing you to walk between the cheese shop and the wine bar without going outside
  • Yes, there’s going to be a patio!
  • Yes, we’re going to serve food, including charcuterie and small plates, cheese pairings to go with your wine, and many other delicious options

There is so much more to share, and we will do LOTS of sharing on our new Facebook and Instagram pages, so please follow @SparrowWineBar for updates, sneak peeks, construction photos, and all kinds of fun leading up to our opening (which, by the way, we hope will take place by mid-2023).

UPDATE: Opening Thursday, June 29th!

It was during a road trip last summer that we found ourselves talking about the trajectory of our business.

We had been praying that God would show us how to dream about what might be next. It was ironic because just a few months prior we had decided, or so we thought, that we were more than content to keep doing what we’d been doing since we opened – namely, sourcing and selling great cheese and accompaniments from our humble storefront in Farragut. But sometime in late spring or early summer, something shifted. We began to dream. And we took the road trip that changed everything.

The cheese shop, which has now been open for over two years, was born out of a dream to do more than just sell a product. Cheese is great, and we truly love it, but it was always about more than just selling cheese. It was about helping people connect with loved ones while sharing food and stories and laughter as they gathered around a charcuterie box. Covid-19 was still in full swing when we opened, and we loved the idea of people being able to pick up charcuterie boxes and enjoy them within the comfort and safety of their own homes. And during a time when we were all desperate for interesting things to do without gathering in public places, the idea of creating your own charcuterie boards at home seemed precisely the right fit. It was, you told us, just what you needed.

With the passing of time and an increased comfort with engaging in social activities outside the home, our next idea emerged from the concept of creating a space where people could gather with loved ones in a comfortable space outside of our walls at home that we’d grown tired of staring at.

You were not an inactive participant in our brainstorming, you must know! Since the day we opened, you’ve consistently asked for three things:

1) Wine; 2) a place to sit and enjoy your cheese; and 3) classes.

These requests found little corners in our minds where they took root and grew into the big announcement we’re making today.

SO! It is with great joy and anticipation that we announce the expansion of our business to include a brand new venture – a place to gather, to sip and savor. We are thrilled to announce we plan to open Sparrow Wine Bar by mid-2023!

We have been working hard on this new dream since that serendipitous road trip last summer, exploring how best to give you a beautiful, relaxing and inviting space where you can gather with friends and family. We’re so close we can almost taste it and we can’t wait to welcome you to Sparrow Wine Bar!

I look forward to sampling your new venture! We purchased some cheese last week from you, and it was ALL delightful. We have French roots so cheese is in our DNA, and as you can imagine we long for it in-between trips to France. And wine!?! . . . Duh !!
